A Christian View of “Purple Day”

Worldwide, there was a movement by young people, to wear purple on October 20th. The original intent was to remember the 6 boys bullied to the point they were desperate enough to feel they had no hope, and committed suicide. Once the news was out, the Gay activists tried to take over so it became a tool for support in their movement. I wore purple on Wednesday, not to support Gay activists, or to support any group, other than God and Christians.

The bible teaches us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself”. That means our neighbors…those around us in the world today, are as important as ourselves. We should treat all people as we want ourselves to be treated. My heart breaks to think those boys did not see a way out of their suffering except in taking their lives. God loved them just as he loves the ones guilty of being bully’s. God is waiting for everyone to call upon him and ask His forgiveness. He offers salvation through his son, Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross so we will not perish, but have everlasting life.

Christians need to wake up and walk among their neighbors, telling them of God’s love and mercy. God gives everyone a  joyful life in Christ Jesus, for any that call upon Him, and give their lives to Him. When you give your life to God, He sends His Holy Spirit to empower you with the Armor of God, to fight the battles upon this earth. There is nothing more powerful than God!

Ephesians 6:11-18

God is with us…He never leaves us…God loves us…We are precious to God…God’s Love is never ending…With God, all things are possible…God will never fail you…God’s power can overcome all forms of darkness…The truth of God will set you free…God sees even the sparrow that falls from the tree…God sees you and wants to heal your pain…God is holding out His hand to you…God can save you…God will take away fear and give you peace.

Christians, love your neighbor and tell them about our wonderful Lord and Saviour. Time is running out.
