This Little Light of Mine

As child I sang the song, “This Little Light of Mine”. Teach your child the song and make memories they can grow with all their lives.

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
(The kids hold up their index finger and move it in a circular motion.)

(When the kids sing “Won’t let Satan blow it out….they blow on their finger.)

Won’t let Satan blow it out.
I’m gonna let it shine.
Won’t let Satan blow it out.
I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Let it shine til Jesus comes.
I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine til Jesus comes.
I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

(The children cup one hand over their finger and when shouting NO they remove their cupped hand)
Hide it under a bushel – NO!
I’m gonna let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel – NO!
I’m gonna let it shine, Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

Matthew 5:15-16 (NLT) “No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father”

Jesus taught us the reason Christians are enlightened, was that others might also see the light and be benefited by it. We are to let everyone be able to see we are true Christians by our acts, words and faith. We can’t just do good things. We have to “walk the talk”, giving God all the glory and honor. If others see the light through us, it will help lead them to God.

Let your light shine brightly for others to see the way to God!
